Dating a paraplegic girl?

I've been paralyzed from below my knees down for 9 years. I've dated but very very little. I don't understand why some guys are shallow about dating a girl who is paralyzed. I use a wheelchair at home and a crutch in public. I can pretty much do everything for myself. People with disabilitys are usually very capable independent people. But regardless, its almost as if people dehumanize them. We want companionship and love too and many of us are able to have normal physical relationships. I was "normal" for 14 years before becoming paralyzed and now I know what its like to be judged and rejected for a physical problem. I would never not be with a guy based on something physical. But it seems that many guys are shallow and unwilling to date me because of my disability. If someone can't accept me as is, then their loss. My question is does anyone else see it my way?
