So can I have a bunny if i have a dog?

My dog chases bunnies in our backyard and accidentally killed two she didn't mean too she just thought it was a toy like the one she has and she nudge it because she wanted to play with the bun. But I am tryin to convince my mom to get a holland mini lop because my dog likes me but she is old and unwilling to play and she doesn't love me as much as the rest of the family so should i get a bunny because i really really really really really want one thank you so much
