Why do some people consider Dionysus-worship to be wrong?

I once read about some of the rites of Dionysus, which were taken to be a literal account. Women getting drunk, dancing wildly and killing a man and eating him, was how this rite was described. In some places in Rome, it was illegal to be associated with Dionysus/Bacchus because of this. Now, how true this is, I am not sure. That and the idea of the "wild orgy" - which I've yet to actually find proof of in ANY pagan path. A lot of rumor, but no proof
